DON’T have time to send your Mercedes-Benz in for its scheduled maintenance but need to have it done soon? Or your car battery is at its tail end and urgently needs to be changed? Well, your problem is answered if you had purchased your Mercedes-Benz from Cycle & Carriage Bintang Berhad.
The company has launched the first Mercedes-Benz Star Mobile in Malaysia, which is a mobile service that attends to light mechanical services such as scheduled maintenance jobs and replacements of wiper blades, key fob battery or infrared items, and battery. And for the first three months following this Star Mobile launch, the service fee is waived.
Doesn’t that sound great? However, for the moment, this Star Mobile service only caters to Cycle & Carriage customers in the Klang Valley. According to General Manager Andrew Lim, this service is a learning process for the company in fully catering to the needs of its customers and would be expanded to other regions in due course if it proves to be well received.

Why wasn’t such a mobile service introduced earlier? Apparently, it is not simply a matter of preparing a vehicle with specialised tools and fully trained technicians to provide light mechanical service on the go. The Road Transport Department needs to know the exact details of such a service in documentary proof before it would allow a vehicle to be registered for such a purpose. And this takes time and in this case, about two years.
Now, that Cycle & Carriage has launched the pilot Star Mobile service, this would be a boon for its busy customers. The vehicle chosen to be the Star Mobile platform is a Mercedes-Benz Vito equipped with the necessary tools, including the Xentry Diagnosis system, for off-site repairs and maintenance jobs. It would be manned by two qualified technicians.
Customers could schedule an appointment with any Cycle & Carriage dealership within the Klang Valley or directly at The Mercedes-Benz Star Mobile hotline +603-61929200. Along with the added convenience, the company says customers are assured greater transparency with cost estimates provided ahead of services, including itemised costs for the required parts and labour services. This enables the customer to make more informed decisions about the maintenance of their Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
The Mercedes-Benz Star Mobile operates daily (except on public holidays) from Monday to Friday (8am to 8pm) and Saturday to Sunday from 8am to 1pm. Cycle & Carriage expects to attend to at least three customers a day, depending on the job and distance to be covered.
